Item description

Great Italian Navy of the second half of the seventeenth century. Oil work on canvas depicting a port with the stormy sea, of considerable pictorial quality. At the center of the composition we find a sailing ship at the mercy of tumultuous waves that risks shipwreck under a dramatic sky and plumbei tones. On the coast we glimpse instead a perched castle and numerous figures at work, well characterized and rich in details. Cake of the 20th century in carved, lacquered and golden wood, with some signs of time. Work already restored with Rintelo, replacement of the frame and color recovery in small points. Overall in good conservative state. Painted light H 104 x L 148 cm.
