Item description

Louis Vuitton trunk lined with the Maison's iconic Monogram waxed canvas, a canvas created in 1896 by Georges Vuitton, son of Louis Vuitton. It is dated 1925, a period when the quality of materials and workmanship historically reaches one of the highest levels. Every part is original: the wood interior, the lousine trim, the gilded brass details, the canvas and the locks. The suitcase locks in these years already use the revolutionary 5-drum spring system, making the trunks extremely secure. The ancient travel trunks were commissioned directly to the Maison and customized according to needs and interests; in this case the indication of the crown suggests a noble family commission. The suitcase has small dimensions for the time and was created to carry and store shoes, inside, in fact, we find several removable shelves designed to take advantage of every space and protect the contents of the suitcase.
