Rare 20-drawer cabinet or chest of drawers, in solid mahogany wood with the interior of the drawers in Slavonian oak wood, therefore honey in color.
The top, also in solid mahogany wood, has a band fitted at 45 degrees with an "owl's beak" edge and a shaped molding underneath, all in a single piece carved from solid, which denotes a great quality of construction.
The 20 drawers are arranged in two vertical rows side by side and have a solid mahogany wooden front with low-relief moldings carved from solid wood that form a central round with an elegant gilded bronze knob screwed in the middle with fine chiseling. The interiors of the drawers, as already mentioned, are in Slavonian oak wood and the construction is "dovetail".
The sides are paneled and the cabinet face has three uprights with grooved pilasters.
The chest of drawers rests on 4 inverted pyramid truncated feet also in solid mahogany wood.
The origin, given the woods used and the construction, is to be considered Liguria/Côte d'Azur.
The era is late 19th/early 20th century.
Elegant piece of furniture which, due to the way it is made, the age, the quality and the conservation, is difficult to find.
It is in excellent vintage condition, with all 20 original knobs in patina (if desired, polished) and has practically nothing to do with carpentry (even all the drawers slide well), if you want a coat of external wax.
Thanks also to the woods used, it is healthy, with a patina and the normal small signs of use given its age.
