Beautiful and elegant low Victorian showcase with two doors, also called "Pier Cabinet".
Nicely sized and beautifully made, it is made of walnut and walnut root, with two friezes on the uprights, the escutcheon and the profile between the two doors all in gilded bronze.
Beautiful maple fillets surround the internal frame of the two arched glass doors, while in the outermost part there are wider fillets with rose wood veneer. The same rose wood veneer is present around the uprights, the high crosspiece and the edge under the top.
In the center of the high crosspiece, which is flared outwards, and of the two uprights there are three important floral inlays in precious essences of different colours.
The top is also in walnut root.
The interior has two shelves which form three internal shelves with the bottom, ideal for displaying books or collectibles.
The lock is functional, its original, double toothed, with its very beautiful key, chiseled in gilded bronze, like all bronzes and like the two retractable latches on the left door.
Of English manufacture, it is Victorian in style and dates back to around 1860/1880.
The state of conservation, given the age, is excellent, with imperceptible signs of aging and the structure is healthy.
