Ancient Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas work depicting a biblical subject, Moses saved from the waters, of excellent pictorial quality. Painting that develops horizontally, of beautiful size and proportion, adorned with a non-coeval carved and gilded wooden frame (gilding resumed during the restoration phase).
Work representing the rescue of Moses by Princess Bithia, daughter of the Pharaoh. Together with the princess the painter inserts four elegant girls who show the child just picked from the woven wooden basket. To the left of Bithia we find a young page holding up her clothes and a councilor with a particular headdress to enrich the scene (see photo).
A glimpse on the right also shows the banks of the Nile. Painting that can be easily inserted in different parts of the house given the beautiful size, for antique dealers, interior designers and collectors of ancient art. Work that has undergone a skilful conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the frame and recovery of the color in small points (see photo). Overall painting in good condition. Light painting H 72 x W 87.5 cm.
