Description of the object: Refined and authentic tripod table of Rolo manufacture (Rolo inlay), dating back to the second half of the nineteenth century. This splendid piece of furniture embodies the famous Emilian cabinetmaking tradition, renowned for its extraordinary mastery of the art of wooden inlay.
The square-shaped top with rounded corners is entirely veneered in fine essences (walnut, boxwood and fruitwood) that create a wonderful natural colour contrast.
The central inlay: It features a superb and detailed geometric-figurative depiction of Saint George slaying the dragon, a classic iconographic motif, rare and visually striking, executed with millimetric precision.
The borders: The central decoration is framed by a rich series of reserves and geometric "herringbone" Greek frets and checkerboard motifs typical of Rolo's production, which continue elegantly even along the thickness of the sub-plane bundle.
The support: The top is supported by an elegant central shaft turned in dark wood, enriched by contrasting inlaid rings, which ends on a solid and sinuous tripod with moved legs, also embellished on the back with a refined geometric inlay.
