4 Chairs by Kai Kristiansen in Teak, 1960s
These chairs designed by Kai Kristiansen have that quality typical of good Danish design: they seem simple at first glance, but the more you look at them, the more proportions, details and carefully thought-out design solutions emerge. The structure is lightweight, well-balanced and built around an idea of everyday comfort that remains immediately perceptible to this day. Teak builds the structure through clean profiles and continuous surfaces, while the new padding changes the overall character of the seats in a very natural way. The warm white coating (soft, bright and away from cold or overly optical hues) creates a delicate contrast with the wood, visually lightening the whole and making the set particularly easy to fit even in contemporary interiors.
