Sculptural large bowl or centrepiece glass bowl, in deep cobalt glass, hand-blown at Kosta Glasbruk, Sweden, circa 1960s (pre-merger). Signed Kosta Sweden to the underside. The form features a broad, perfectly balanced plane that tapers to a clear circular foot, characteristic of Scandinavian Modern design's emphasis on proportion and optical clarity. The intense cobalt hue, achieving near-architectural presence, distinguishes this as an early Kosta Glasbruk example from the period preceding its 1976 consolidation with Boda Glasbruk to form Kosta Boda AB. Extremely well-executed with a polished pontil and striking scale - ideal as a centrepiece, sculptural table object, or collector's display of mid-century Swedish glass artistry. Excellent condition with small scratches consistent with age.
