The piece features the famous, deep "Bleu de Four" (deep cobalt blue) background, richly decorated on the lid and along the edge with refined ornamental motifs in pure gold in the gallant style of 18th-century France. The lid is a free-standing type, entirely made of porcelain. In excellent vintage condition, free of chips, cracks, or wear to the gilding.
