Magnificent Sicilian chariot element transformed into a chandelier, made by the Vaccaro brothers in Vizzini, Sicily.
The wooden sculpture features a wrought iron upper section.
It is exquisitely adorned with an original oil painting depicting various scenes. In the center appears the inscription "Don't get angry, life is short," along with the artisans' signature and the name of the city of Vizzini: "Vaccaro Vizzini Brothers."
Decorated on both sides, the front features heads carved in gold.

The Vaccaro brothers' connection with the world of carts developed in the context of Catania's artisan workshops. Academy painters or their pupils often contributed their geometric and figurative art to the decoration of chariot sides. Vizzini, the birthplace of Giovanni Verga (where the Cavalleria Rusticana is set, with the character of the carter Alfio), boasts a long tradition of carrai. Among the most illustrious names who worked at Vizzini was Raffaele Vaccaro (master cartwright/builder).
