This is a letter from the profile of Pope Sixtus IV della Rovere, born Francesco della Rovere, who led the Catholic Church from 1471 to 1484.The pontiff is depicted wearing the religious habit and the typical white shirt or chamauro. The French-language inscription on the lower margin insistently reads: "SIXTUS IV del RVVERE, PAPA". (Sixtus IV della Rovere, Pope), while at the top left you can see the heraldic coat of arms of the famous Della Rovere family, characterised by the characteristic oak tree.
