Item description
French Empire dresser in mahogany feather with Belgian black marble top. The front is punctuated by five large drawers adorned with finely chased gilt bronze spouts and lion's head handles. The bottom drawer is smaller than the others and is embellished with a central frieze depicting a neoclassical scene. The two cantons feature two mahogany feather columns terminating in finely chased gilt bronze bases and capitals. Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using traditional handmade shellac and alcohol method. Provenance: early 19th century France. Document: Certificate of authenticity.
