Oil on canvas Maiden on the rocks by Collina, 1930s
SILVER Seller in Pesaro-Urbino, Italy
Oil on canvas mounted on a fixed frame. Maiden on the rocks. Author Hill. Piedmontese painter, early 20th century. Hints of divisionism "style derived from neo-impressionism" characterised by the separation of colours into single points or lines that interact with each other in an optical sense. The author shows a good knowledge of the technique and the work is characterised by the luminosity and formal balance of fine workmanship, the atmospheric description of the landscape and the detailed description of the girl.
