Napoleon III desk in fine woods and gilt bronze applications, 19th century
Item description
Napoleon III desk made of exotic fine woods and expertly chiseled gilt bronze applications. The front features three large drawers with polybolato inlay embellished with finely chiseled gilt bronze vents and friezes. The top features bronze profiling with an explosion of inlays inside bearing gallant scenes alternating with leaf and raceme motifs. The donkey-backed feet are enriched by the presence of a garniture and fit a skillfully chiseled gilt bronze slipper. The two faces appear to be mirrored. Table in very good condition bearing a certificate of authenticity.
