Item description

Old Italian painting from the end of the 17th century. Oil on canvas painting depicting religious subject Christ Crucified by a good painterly hand. Painting of excellent size adorned with 20th century carved and gilded frame. Dark background work characterised by a skilful use of light, strong visual impact, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of antique sacred art. Painting that has undergone conservation restoration, re-staining, frame replacement and colour restoration in several places (see photo). In good condition with some signs of restoration. Light painting H 98 x W 78 cm.
