Wood sculpture of pair of lovers attributed to Pinuccio Sciola, 1960s
Sculpture in dark solid wood of a pair of lovers attributed to Pinuccio Sciola, probably made between 1964 and 1967. Fundamental for the artist is the lesson not only of Michelangelo but also of 20th century masters such as Arturo Martini, Marino Marini and Giacomo Manzù. Sciola's figures from the 1960s refer to the archaism of Italian culture, they are characterized by an authentic popular, sentimental and realistic dimension. The work comes from the private collection of the artist's heirs.
