Pair of hand-painted ceramic Empire vases, second half of the 19th century
Pair of French Empire vases from the second half of the 19th century. Nice-sized objects in gilded and hand-painted ceramics with scenes of popular taste of good quality. Finished centre vases with chiselled and gilded handles, stamped under the base (see photo, stamp under study). Objects consisting of two ceramic elements, base and bowl, held together by original irons. Vases with popular scenes depicting drinkers with pipes by an excellent painterly hand. The back of one vase has a stain (see photo). The same vase has a spinning under the base and a small mark at the top (see photo). Objects in beautiful patina with several gilding falls. Overall in a fairly good state of preservation.
