Serafino Ramazzotti, female half-bust, marble sculpture, early 20th century
Large marble statue from the early 20th century. Art Nouveau sculpture depicting a beautiful maiden adorned with garlands of flowers. Work signed on the back "Ramazzotti," referable to Italian artist Serafino Ramazzotti (1846-1920); lacking authentication. Statue showing recently restored cracks on the nose (see photos) and a small lack on the support base (right front corner). Remarkably attractive sculpture; note the quality with which the flowing hair and floral details were made. An ideal half-bust for display both outside and inside a home, in a living room or study, to match a column or to be placed on top of a desk or dresser. Object that has long been exposed to the elements, in beautiful patina, overall in good state of preservation.
