Oil painting on canvas depicting a landscape with village and ruins, 18th - 19th century. On the back is a cartouche with an old attribution to Hubert Robert (1733 -1808), a French painter who traveled in Italy bringing back several glimpses and picturesque views of it, populated by architectural ruins. In this work, a glimpse of a hilly countryside, a village is depicted with cottages and a fountain in the center, in the midst of which, however, also stand classical architectural ruins; in the center are three columns of a temple, plus on the left the ruins of an amphitheater. Several mass figurines wander among the structures. Restored and restretched, the painting is presented in frame. Size without frame: 56 x 66 cm.
