Pair of oil paintings on canvas of Eastern European school depicting a couple of gypsy lovers, 19th - 20th century. Signed "Szego G." at the bottom. These are two works to be proposed lined up because they depict a boy and a girl lying on the same lawn in a mirror position, as if facing each other, probably intent on a love game. They wear gypsy clothing and carry musical instruments - she a tambourine and he a violin - that hint at two ethnic Slavic characters from the gypsy world. The ensemble comes across as lively and serene. Performed restoration work to the painting with female subject, due to small cut in the center. The two works are presented in style frames. Size without frame: 33 x 59 cm.
