Sheepskin and oak armchair and pouf by Júlia Gaubek, 1969
Armchair and pouf by Júlia Gaubek made in Hungary in 1969. Completely original and authentic sheepskin upholstery, oak legs. It is almost impossible to find examples with the original upholstery, so they are very rare. Júlia Gaubek completed her studies at MIF, with Gyula Kaesz and Lajos Kozma. His works made use of the carpentry craft still existing at the time. The early 1960s saw the birth of the "sheepskin" design armchair (Budapest, Museum of Applied Arts), which was successfully produced for a decade and a half and appeared in many films as a signature object of the time.
