Oil painting on canvas depicting a mountain landscape with fisherman. Bottom right signed Borella and dated 1894. This is probably Rafael Borella (1874-1953), a painter born and trained in Milan but later moved to Uruguay. His early Italian production includes landscapes of Venice and the Aosta Valley. This painting offers a mountain glimpse with meadows traversed by a stream by which a fisherman sits. The scene could thus be a youthful production by Borella, consonant with him in subject and style. The work is presented in a coeval frame. Size without frame: 70 x 50 cm.
