Large Italian painting from the 17th century. Oil work on canvas depicting a wonderful Saint Cecilia at the organ, of notable pictorial quality. Painting attributable to the workshop of Carlo Dolci (1616-1686), lacking authenticity. Equipped with a refined technique, he was the greatest Florentine painter of the seventeenth century and his works are characterized by an idealized beauty, also flaunted by the very smooth rendering of the flesh on which a pale astral light is refracted. The Christian martyr is depicted playing an organ as she is the patroness of music, instrumentalists and singers. To underline the quality in the creation of the dress, full of splendid details and transparencies. 20th century frame in carved and gilded wood, beautifully decorated. Work already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and color recovery in small spots. Overall in good state of conservation. Painting light H 84 x W 69 cm.
