Splendid period table, a refined expression of Piedmontese Baroque (mid-18th century). The piece of furniture stands out for its wavy lines and the rich inlay decoration that covers its entire surface, giving it a high-level decorative character.
Main Features:
Structure and Line: The table has a top with a characteristic "moved" shape on the front, typical of the Rococo taste. The sub-plane bundle follows its course and is supported by elegant "cabriole" legs, which end in stylised plinth feet.
Cabinetmaking and Inlays: Made of solid walnut, the furniture is entirely inlaid with light wood (boxwood).
The Piano: It features a complex reserve composition with large phytomorphic volutes, swirls and interlacing motifs that frame a central star-shaped rose window with mother-of-pearl inserts.
The Front: The central drawer is decorated with mirrored volute motifs, while the lower apron houses a valuable inlay depicting an exotic bird (phoenix or heron), a much-loved iconographic element in eighteenth-century Piedmont.
The Hips: The hips also reflect the star motif enclosed in a shaped reserve, maintaining decorative coherence on each side.
