Item description

Oil on canvas. It depicts a young woman with a helmet and surplice, holding a halberd. Above her is her identifying name. The epithet of Amazon essentially identifies the female warrior, but there is no news of a character called Leandra. Furthermore, the myth of female warriors, known as Amazons, had a wide following and favored a vast artistic-literary production. The painting has undergone restoration and relining in the past. It is presented in an ancient contemporary frame.
