It is a pair of processional lanterns (or lanterns) of Tuscan origin, dating back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Traditionally used in religious ceremonies, they were supported by long wooden or metal shafts and could hold candles or small oil lamps.
Materials: Generally made of sheet metal or wrought iron, decorated with gilded and lacquered metal elements.
Style: They feature rich decoration with plant motifs and leafy scrolls, and are topped with small spires. The central structure is polygonal, with a glass plate to protect the flame.
One of the lanterns is shorter and its shaft has been shortened. They are in excellent condition, despite some minor glass deficiencies. They come from an ancient Tuscan residence.
One measures 253 cm high, the other 233 cm. The lantern is 80 cm high without a shaft and 53 cm wide.
