Danish cabinet from the late 1950s and early 1960s, teak veneer, expression of a transitional phase of Scandinavian design in which more decorative elements coexist with the functional rigor of modernism. The upper part is organized with a series of drawers, embellished with organically shaped brass handles, and with a compartment with a flap opening. The lower section is closed by sliding doors that reveal internal compartments with shelves. The contrast between the teak structure and the dark stained beech base introduces a chromatic variation typical of the production of the period. The use of brass and the processing of details recall a sensitivity still linked to the taste of the 1940s, while the overall structure is oriented towards greater compositional rationality. A product that testifies to the transition between two eras of Nordic design.
