An exceptional Murano glass piece from the 1970s, combining an ashtray and candle holder in a single sculptural form. The organically shaped glass body features a central bowl and two holders integrated into the sides for tapered candles.
Solid clear glass encases warm amber and honey tones that run through the body like flowing lines. The asymmetrical, free-form silhouette and the strong sculptural effect are characteristic of Italian glass design of that period. When fitted with candles, the piece becomes a particularly decorative table centrepiece, but also functions as an ashtray or an extraordinary centrepiece.
