Italian table lamp from the 1970s, crafted from metal, Perspex, and opal glass, designed in the New Lamp style. The structure features a strong geometric and architectural feel: a rectangular metal base supports a cubic Perspex casing enclosing a spherical opal glass diffuser at its center.
When lit, the central sphere diffuses a soft, uniform light, while the surrounding Perspex surfaces generate reflections and visual multiplications of the globe, giving the lamp a highly sculptural and dramatic character.
The contrast between the rigidity of the cubic volume and the perfectly circular shape of the diffuser recalls the experimental and Space Age language of Italian lighting of the 1970s, with a bold yet extremely clean decorative presence.
The piece shows normal signs of age and use consistent with its age.
Dimensions: width 24 cm, depth 24 cm, height 38 cm.
