Lyre shaped Fratino travel table in solid walnut wood, Italy, original early 19th century
Beautiful and elegant Fratino Table of Italian manufacture built in the early 19th century in solid walnut wood. The model is the most elegant, "a Lira", or lyre-shaped which takes its name from the shape of the 2 heads that, like the crossbar and the two thunderbolts, has a beautiful carving. They are just the 2 thunderbolts in wood and not iron that denote its Italian manufacture. The top is in made of only two planks of which the underlying part still gouged by hand and with an old restoration with old "butterflies" to prevent the shrinkage of the wood of the two planks. Born to be transported frequently, can be disassembled and reassembled easily into 6 parts (Top, 2 Heads, 2 Saette, Crossbar). The state of preservation, given the age, is excellent with small and irrelevant signs of time, the structure is healthy and firm and the patina very nice.
