Item description

Linear and essential table service consisting of six glasses; the glasses are enriched by a solid silver mount, executed on a lathe by hand in an excellent manner. The upper rim is obtained by turning the silver plate on itself and, towards the base, a sturdy step has been created which is then folded underneath the base of the glass itself; this has been done to cleverly reinforce the whole mount so that it is integral with the body of the glass. Aesthetically too, the glass has a sober, elegant and clean line. From the hallmark, stamped on the silver part, it is clear that the glasses were made between 1980 and 1985 by the Florentine silversmith and craftsman Cecconi Valerio, whose workshop was located in Bagno a Ripoli, on the outskirts of Florence (Italy), the company closed around 2000. He specialised in the creation of crystal objects assembled with silver. He researched unique, original and special crystals for his objects and executed the silver mounts with art and technique, creating high quality objects. Also for our glasses, the craftsman Cecconi wanted to use a special crystal produced by the company R.C.R. (Royal Crystal Rock) in Colle Val d'Elsa (Tuscany, Italy), the glasses bear the company's trademark ground into the bottom. RCR Cristalleria Italiana was founded in 1967 in the heart of Tuscany from an idea of a group of craftsmen who, with courage and talent, expressed the highest level of the art of glassmaking; the company has distinguished itself to this day for the production of objects for the table, for wine tasting and for home furnishing. Lead crystal has been produced in Italy for over two centuries, but RCR's technical evolution has led the company to propose an alternative to classic lead crystal through the production of Luxion®, an innovative, high quality glass, created with the purest raw materials and the most advanced technology in the sector. Luxion is a lead-free crystal with qualities that make it the best crystal in the world in terms of transparency, brilliance and safety, both for food and for the user. This material is an index of the highest quality for RCR Crystal glass, also from an aesthetic point of view thanks to its high refractive index and brilliance, with maximum ultra-clear transparency. The almost total absence of colour and maximum clarity, due to the highest quality raw materials, make Luxion® the most transparent of all glass materials on the market. The quality of this material means that RCR products are perfect glasses for tasting cocktails and drinks, able to enhance the organoleptic qualities of liqueurs or wines, with a total absence of taste alteration. Size diameter 6 cm, height 19 cm. The glasses are in good condition. For all shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, polystyrene, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
