Teak and black varnish Ergo bookcase, 1960s
Ergo free-standing single-bay teak and black varnish bookcase, made in the 1960s in Norway. It has been upcycled with great attention to detail and very refined carpentry solutions. Some parts were redone by our carpenter and painted black; most are original teak parts by John Texmon. Ergonomic mid-century shapes and delicate lines, especially a black paint finish, enhance the teak grain and mid-century look of this piece. The manufacturer's label is preserved on the back. This bookcase is made up of modular parts and can be organized as needed. It is equipped with a cabinet, a display case and a shelf, which provides additional storage space and creates a functional space. It is possible to add a clear glass door to the cabinet but in our opinion it looks better without it. The cabinet is 47 cm high, 78.5 cm wide and 40 cm deep. The display case with inside wooden shelf is 43 cm high, 78.5 cm wide and 22 cm deep. The shelf with back and sides is 14 cm high, 78.5 cm wide and 21 cm deep. The two wooden uprights are 210 cm long. The bookcase has been carefully checked: all components fit together and work properly. Small natural signs of use are left which do not ruin the aesthetics of the furniture and only confirm its originality.
