The work depicts a woman of high social standing, dressed in a ceremonial gown adorned with a rich white cape; she is immortalized in three-quarter view, looking directly at the viewer. Note the careful rendering of the facial features, the attention to the nuances of the complexion, and the sharpness of the contours emphasized by the light. Frame in need of restoration.
