Ellipse rocking chair by Renato Zevi for Selig, 1970s. Chromed metal structure, padding and blue fabric upholstery. Zevi was a well-known Italian furniture designer, particularly active in the 1970s. His designs are characterized by the use of materials such as golden aluminum, brass, lacquered wood and mirrored glass, embodying the Hollywood Regency style. Among his most famous pieces are the Ellipse rocking chair, designed for the Selig company, and a lounge chair with ottoman with oval legs in polished chrome. Zevi often collaborated with other renowned designers, such as Romeo Rega. Together, they created elegant bookcases and display cases with gilded brass frames and smoked or crystal glass shelves. Zevi's works continue to be highly prized by decorators, collectors, and Hollywood Regency design enthusiasts. Seat: 33 cm.
