Pair of Italian paintings from the first half of the 18th century.
Oil on canvas works attributable to the painter Antonio Mercurio Amorosi (1660-1738), lacking authentication. He will work mainly in Rome and following the taste of bombocciate he will perform popular genre scenes that draw inspiration from the life of the common people. In fact, these paintings are not true portraits but figures of a popular character much sought after by the Roman aristocracy.
In the couple in question we see a young boy pouring wine and a lady with a basket of fruit, of notable pictorial quality, which can be seen in particular in the details of the splendid clothes.
Pair of paintings that are part of a very rare group of eight paintings (see photo and request the bulk price if still available).
Works that have undergone restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in some small points.
Overall in good state of conservation. Light paintings H 63 x W 54 cm.
