Wonderful landscape from the mid-18th century.
Oil work on canvas depicting a countryside view with ruins, with great charm. Painting attributable to the famous painter Francesco Zuccarelli, lacking authenticity. Specializing in paintings with Arcadian subjects, he worked mainly between Venice and England where he was appreciated by wealthy London patrons.
As in many of his compositions we find a genre scene of everyday life with farmers and grazing animals set in an idyllic landscape among ruins of antiquity. 20th century frame in carved and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Work already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and color recovery in small spots.
Overall in excellent state of conservation.
Painting light H 78 x W 96 cm.
