Italian religious painting from the first half of the 19th century. Oil-on-canvas work depicting a beautiful Madonna, of excellent painterly hand. She is depicted with her arms crossed at breast height in a gesture indicating unconditional acceptance of the divine will, while the twelve stars on her head refer to Marian symbolism, namely the immaculate conception. Coeval carved and gilded wooden frame, beautifully decorated, with some signs of time. Work that has already been restretched and restored with frame replacement and color restoration in some small places. Painting overall in good state of preservation. Measurements without frame: 57 x 48 cm.
