Poliarte, Italian vintage chandelier, coloured glass, 1960s pendant, Albano Poli, sculptural lamp, mid-century Italian design, art glass, handcrafted lighting Refined pendant lamp made by Poliarte in the 1960s, the result of Italian craftsmanship excellence in the field of artistic lighting. The hemispherical dome, the structure of which is handmade of wrought iron, is composed of chiselled and coloured thick textured glass arranged in alternating sections in shades of amber, yellow, emerald green and red. The glass is handcrafted with a wavy effect that creates vibrant reflections and transparencies, emphasising the warm and enveloping light the lamp emits. The lampshade, which on its own measures 40cm in diameter and 30cm in height, is supported by a wrought iron chain with a burnished finish, composed of 20 rings, for a length of approximately 120cm, and features a floral frame at the bottom, a hallmark of Poliarte's decorative production. Good vintage condition; the metal frame shows a pleasant original patina. No cracks in the glass. Poliarte was founded in Verona in 1968 by Albano Poli, an artist and designer known for his ability to fuse art and functionality. The company has become famous for its sculptural glass lamps, often handmade in one-offs or limited editions.
