Antique Noritake "Komaru Mark" Lidded Vase - Cobalt Blue and Gold Porcelain - 1908-1921 An extremely rare and splendid lidded vase (collectible potiche) in the finest antique Japanese porcelain, made by the prestigious Noritake factory during the highly sought-after "Nippon" export period (1908-1921). The base bears the authentic, ancient, and rare underglaze blue "Komaru" mark, featuring the famous mirrored trident symbol within a circle. The piece is a masterpiece of micro-craftsmanship: it features a deep cobalt blue background with a finely executed, raised, dotted finish. The front features a hand-painted reserve with floral motifs of polychrome roses, surrounded by rich, heavy ornamental fillets of thickened pure gold (moriage relief). In excellent condition, free of chips or cracks, with the gold incredibly well preserved. A high showcase piece for demanding collectors of oriental porcelain.
