Item description

Venetian Baroque style etagere from the early 1800s. The antique etagere is made of wood painted in gold and has four shelves and each shelf is covered in fabric, at the edge of each shelf there are decorations with application of fine passementerie and fringes. The fabric of the antique etagere shows signs of time in places, in fact it has never been restored. Each shelf of the sumptuous antique etagere is supported by four beautifully carved and then gilded and painted wooden legs, typical of the flamboyant and pompous 19th century Italian Venetian Baroque style. The etagere can also be used as a bookcase.
