Extendable round table with solid teak base, 1960s
A beautiful round extendable dining table made of vintage solid teak from the 1960s, manufactured in Denmark. The solid teak main table top and legs show the richness of the wood grain. The table has an easy extension system and two additional leaves, each 50 cm wide, allowing the table to be extended up to 205 cm. The leaves are made of teak, not solid wood, but match well with the colour of the surface. They have nicely curved edges that, together with the table top, create a beautiful oval line to seat 6-8 people. This vintage table is a lovely example of mid-century Danish design that, thanks to its small diameter of 105 cm, fits perfectly in modest flats. The solid teak table top is a rare feature; over 90% of tables of this type are veneered, like leaves. It allows it to be used freely, even stained, scratched, sanded and reused. It is practically a table for life. The surface has been cleaned and polished with professional compounds. It is still in excellent original condition with slight traces of use. A truly extraordinary piece of furniture, ready for use.
