Pair of Art Deco armchairs in walnut and black velvet, 20s
Beautiful and elegant Austrian walnut armchairs made in Vienna Austria between 1925 and 1930. Their structure is extremely solid, in fact the armrests and the base are joined by wooden plates forming a single piece. The whole armchair is thus strengthened and stabilized, but also aesthetically it is very special, energetic and compact, a typical example of Art Deco. They have been completely restored in the wooden part (they have some slight scratches of the time, see photo), but very important is the fabric used to upholster them: a very fine black velvet treated with a special processing that makes it much more resistant than smooth velvet. Seat height: 40 cm.
