Pair of Murano glass abat jours by Barovier & Toso, 1940s

Pair of table lamps (lampshades) in Murano glass, 1940s, late Art Deco period. The base and the lampshade were made with the typical ribbed workmanship; the sinuous brass structure completes the ensemble. The lampshades, handmade, are attributable to the prestigious Barovier & Toso furnace. The electrical system has been completely redone, illuminated by a central E14 bulb; using adapters easily found on the web, you can use E12 USA bulbs. The switch is positioned on the glass base. The two Abat-Joure are in excellent condition, both aesthetically and functionally. One lamp has two marks on the base that are almost imperceptible to the eye, but which do not affect its beauty and value.
