Signed by one of the great masters of post -war Italian design, this extraordinary S11 model table is the result of the collaboration between Angelo Mangiarotti and the source of the Arosio furniture. Designed in the late sixties, it represents a perfect balance between architecture, function and constructive poetry. The round floor, in ennobled wood, opens with a central extension system that transforms it into a more generous oval shape, adapting elegantly to different space needs. But it is the sculptural base, composed of a crown of arched vertical elements that are grafted on a circular plinth, to really make the difference. A rigorous, essential, but at the same time dynamic and sophisticated structure, which recalls the forms of rationalist architecture reinterpreted in a domestic key. The quality of the materials, the cleaning of the drawing and the functional brilliance of the extendable mechanism are witnesses of the unique ability of Mangiarotti to conceive the furniture as a structural object, in which nothing is decorative but every detail has a precise role in the construction of the set. The table is part of the rare and refined series "S11 program", produced on a small scale and now present in important international collections. Objects of this series, including tables, seats and containers, are today the protagonists of the most prestigious collectible design platforms.
