Item description

Old Flemish painting from the second half of the 18th century. Oil on panel painting depicting a popular scene with characters, blacksmith with peasants, with a good pictorial hand. Twentieth century wood and plaster frame, finely chiselled and gilded with beautiful decoration. Painting of good size and pleasant decoration for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of old Flemish art. Painting with a signature in the bottom right corner (see photo) under study, attributable to the painter Jacobus Buys (1724-1801), lacking authentication. Painting of good brightness that has undergone a conservative restoration and colour recovery in some places (see photo). In good condition with some signs of restoration. Light painting H 44,5 x W 34,5 cm.
