Unique piece. Box in "grissinato" turned wood with decorated blue crystal and lid in blue corrugated crystal, hand-decorated. Decoration "Man smoking a pipe". Designed by masters Gio Ponti and Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte, Milan, Italy, in the 1930s. Rare piece of art, extremely sophisticated ambient accent. Museum object. H 6.5 cm - 27 x 15 cm. Literature: Fontana Arte Catalogue number 2 - Giò Ponti, Pietro Chiesa, Max Ingrand, Deboni Sergio Montefusco - Fontana Arte. Repertoire 1933-1943 2012, The Arting Company. Very good condition, consistent with age and use, crystal is slightly aged as per photo. No dents, no chips.
