Norwegian teak five-bay bookcase, 1960s. Modular shelving system equipped with three cabinets and nineteen shelves. It provides considerable space for storing and displaying books and various decorative items. It shows the essence of Scandinavian mid-century modern design. The gently curved edges give a warm impression and the sculptural posts make an elegant and impactful statement. This bookcase is teak veneered with solid wood details such as uprights and circular handles. It fits perfectly in a living room or office. The vertical supports and tapered, sculptural legs create geometric lines, underlining the Scandinavian origin. The three cabinets with sliding doors are 41 cm high, 88 cm wide and 30 cm deep. Two shelves are 30 cm deep, two 32.5 cm, the other fifteen 20 cm. The five uprights are 206 cm long. It has been entirely restored. It is a beautiful and functional piece in fantastic condition, with almost no traces of use. It is freestanding but we highly recommend wall mounting it.
