Item description
Oil painting on panel of the Lombard school depicting Pentecost made in the early 18th century. This lively painting depicts in a very scenic way the Gospel episode of Pentecost, or the Descent of the Holy Spirit that occurred 50 days after Christ's resurrection. The Virgin is placed at the center of the scene and is surrounded by the Apostles, who assume attitudes and expressions of amazement as they see the flames descending upon them. The dove representing the Holy Spirit is also placed in the center of the architecture. The composition of the scene is particularly pleasing both for the remarkable description of the characters and for the splendid colors typical of the period. Work complete with certificate of authenticity. We are available for further clarification or photographic details. Shipment throughout Italy, Europe and the Rest of the World in maximum security and traceable. Shipping will be arranged privately.
