Item description

Oil on canvas. Central-European school of the early 20th century. Undeciphered signature (J. Auer?) and date in the lower left. Large composition of ancient taste, set in a stately home, for the richness of the furnishings that it portrays. The lobster in the center and the hare on the right, placed on a table richly covered with variegated fruit and utensils. Among these the metal teapot embossed with the painted ceramic tea cup, and the fruit stand worked with faunal elements, where there is a sparrow looking for food. In the background on the right a painting with a female figure. The painting, restored and retouched, is presented in a frame in style.
