Wonderful Italian painting signed and dated 1853 The famous navigator is depicted while observing the horizon with the navigation cards in his hands, before his incredible adventure. Framework signed and dated on the bottom left "1853 Mauro Conconi" (1815-1860). Milanese painter famous for his splendid portraits and historical scenes exposed several times to Brera and some of his works are today at the Modern Art Gallery in Milan. The subject with reference to the author is easily found online in the general catalog of cultural heritage.
